Oh, hello there! Today we’re going to talk about one of my all-time favorite foods – crispy chicken and wings! You really can’t go wrong with some good ol’ fashioned fried chicken, am I right?
Let’s get started with some crispy chicken:
Crispy Chicken
For this mouthwatering crispy chicken recipe, you’ll need the following ingredients:
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into strips
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 cup buttermilk
- Vegetable oil, for frying
Instructions:
- Preheat your oil to 350 degrees F in a heavy-bottomed pot or deep fryer.
- In a shallow bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper.
- In another shallow bowl, pour the buttermilk.
- Dip each chicken strip into the flour mixture and shake off any excess. Then dip it into the buttermilk and then back into the flour mixture, making sure it’s fully coated.
- Carefully place the coated chicken into the preheated oil and fry for about 6-8 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through (165 F internal temperature).
- Remove the chicken and place on a wire rack to drain any excess oil. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Garnish with some green onions or cilantro and serve with your favorite dipping sauce. Enjoy!
Now onto the wings:
