Hey there, pizza lovers! I’ve got something special for you today – a recipe for a mouth-watering pizza that’ll knock your socks off. This one’s got Italian sausage and pepperoni, two of my favorite toppings. Get ready to drool!
Italian Sausage & Pepperoni Pizza
Check out that picture – doesn’t it make you want to dive right in? Here’s what you’ll need:
- 1 pre-made pizza crust (or make your own if you’re feeling ambitious!)
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce
- 1/2 lb Italian sausage, cooked and crumbled
- 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
First, preheat your oven to 425 degrees F. While the oven is heating up, spread the pizza sauce over your crust.
Next, sprinkle the crumbled Italian sausage evenly over the pizza. Don’t hold back – the more sausage, the better!
Now, add the sliced pepperoni on top of the sausage. The combination of the two meats is just heavenly.
Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the entire pizza, making sure to get all the way to the edges.
Finally, top it off with a sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese. This is where the magic happens, folks.
In a small bowl, mix together the oregano and garlic powder, then sprinkle the mixture over the cheese. This gives the pizza an extra kick of flavor.
Pop your pizza in the oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Take it out of the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing it up and giving it a taste. Trust me, you won’t be able to resist.
Pepperoni & Sausage Pizza
Well, well, well – look who else has a pepperoni and sausage pizza recipe? Trottos Pizzaria, you sneaky devils. Let’s see how their recipe stacks up against mine.
Ingredients:
- 1 pre-made pizza crust (or make your own, if you want to show off)
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce
- 1/2 lb Italian sausage, cooked and crumbled
- 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
Sound familiar? Yep, Trottos and I are on the same page when it comes to pizza toppings.
The process is pretty much the same as my recipe, but Trottos does suggest a couple of variations you can try:
- Instead of using pizza sauce, try a white sauce or garlic butter for a different flavor.
- Make a “meat lovers” version by adding bacon, ham, or ground beef.
- If you like a little kick, sprinkle red pepper flakes on top of the pizza before baking.
Those are some great ideas, Trottos. I might have to try them out next time I make this pizza.
Well, folks, there you have it – two delicious recipes for a classic pizza combination. Give them both a try and let me know which one you like better. As for me, I’m going to sit back, relax, and enjoy a slice (or two) of pizza heaven.
