Moussaka Recipe 1
Ingredients:
- 1 large eggplant, sliced
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup red wine
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Salt the eggplant slices and let sit for 20 minutes. Rinse and dry.
- Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain the fat and add the onion and garlic. Cook until the onion is soft.
- Add the tomato sauce, red wine, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the Parmesan cheese, bread crumbs, and melted butter.
- Layer the eggplant slices in the bottom of a casserole dish. Pour the meat sauce over the eggplant. Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese mixture on top of the meat sauce.
- Bake for 40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the eggplant is tender.
Moussaka Recipe 2
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can tomato sauce
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 3 medium eggplants, sliced
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain the fat and add the onion, bell pepper, and garlic. Cook until the onion is soft.
- Add the tomato sauce, oregano, basil, cinnamon, cloves, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Layer the eggplant slices in the bottom of a casserole dish. Brush with melted butter. Repeat the layers until all the eggplant is used. Pour the meat sauce over the eggplant.
- Bake for 45 minutes, or until the top is browned and the eggplant is tender.
- Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese on top of the dish and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
